The MWR Office should be your first stop for the latest
information on base and community events and services. The friendly staff will
answer your questions and provide you with current publications outlining
programs and special activities. Our monthly newsletter, the HighTide, provides
a comprehensive calendar of events. You can pick up flyers and brochures on MWR
events and facilities as well as attractions in the area and around the
state.
MWR offers recreation programs, facilities, food and beverage
services, retail sales, ticket sales, a fitness center, athletic programs, youth
and liberty programs, and leisure accommodations including campground cabins,
towable campers, and campsites.
The beautiful St. Andrews Bay area offers
many leisure activities including boating, camping, fishing, and
picnicking. The Marina and Outdoor Recreation Center can provide all
that you need to enjoy the best of the bay area. Our rental department offers 17
ft Capehorns, pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, and waverunners. We also have a
selection of party, home and garden equipment, as well as camping and outdoor
equipment available for rent.
Boat storage options include wet, covered,
and uncovered outdoor space.
The waterfront picnic pavilion and
playground are ideal for large groups or family outings.
The Outdoor
Recreation Center sponsors day and overnight activities ranging from canoe trips
to sight-seeing excursions.
Our two RV campgrounds offer 43 RV campsites
with full hook-ups. We also offer towable campers for rent on or off site. These
comfortable units sleep three or four and some include shower, gas stove and a
microwave.
For real campground luxury, enjoy all the comforts of home in
a campground cabin. These log cabin style units are spacious and attractive.
With one bedroom, a sleeping loft, and a futon, they sleep up to six cozily. The
modern well-equipped kitchens make preparing a meal or snack a breeze. Speaking
of breezes, relax on the screen porch or deck and enjoy the view of the bay and
the cool sea breezes.
FITNESS CENTER
The recently renovated and
expanded Fitness Center is a multipurpose facility including a gymnasium and
fitness center with the best in free weights and benches (Body Master), Nautilus
and cardio machines (Life Fitness). The center offers fitness and cardio-fitness
classes and a full range of athletic events including monthly lunch time "fun
runs". The facilities also include" two indoor air-conditioned racquetball
courts, an indoor basketball court, an outdoor basketball court, four outdoor
tennis courts, two outdoor volleyball courts, a roller hockey court, and two
softball/multi-recreational facilities.
A Fitness Library offers mental
and physical health books, workout and instructional videos, and healthy
cookbooks.
Our active intramural program is geared to promoting
competitive fun and fitness. Intramural sports include:

NSA Panama City offers a
variety of running trails to meet the needs of any runner. The clearly marked
trails begin and finish at the Fitness Center and range in length from 1.5 miles
to 6 miles. You can pick up a booklet containing maps of each trail at the
Fitness Center.
SWIMMING POOL
Our 25 yard swimming pool is ideal
for recreational and lap swimming. Recreational swimming is enhanced by a six
foot double tube slide and a one meter diving board. For pool side relaxation
enjoy a large sundeck with poolside furniture and an outdoor billiard table.
There is a roomy toddler pool for the little ones.
LIBERTY
PROGRAM
Ahoy Single Sailors! Join MWR's Single Sailors program to make
your tour here rewarding and fun. A free monthly "Welcome Aboard" get-together
will introduce you to all that we have to offer. You can de-stress with a free
massage by a qualified massage therapist on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each
month, or sign up for weekend tours to interesting and exotic destinations.

Give
something back to the community! MWR will provide information and transportation
for volunteers who enjoy helping in the local community by assisting youth,
senior citizens, the disabled and under privileged.
YOUTH
ACTIVITIES
Youth Program includes a two week Spring Break Camp, a two
week Holiday Camp, and ten weeks of summer day camp. Camp features a variety of
fun and educational activities including sports, crafts, and field trips. With
the opening of our new Recreation Center we will offer many new opportunities
including cooperative programs with organizations such as the Boys and Girls
Club, 4H Club, Mad Science, and American Red Cross.
THE MAIN
DECK
Enjoy a tall relaxing beverage and a breathtaking view of the bay on
an oak shaded deck or in the cozy inside lounge. The MainDeck offers a varied
program of special events including Nintendo, and "cook your own" cookouts. On
Wednesday and Friday Happy Hour features complimentary hors
d'oeuvres.
THE MARKET STREET GRILL
The friendly relaxed
atmosphere, delicious food, and fast efficient service make the Market Street
Grill, located in bldg 450, the perfect place to break up your day for a quick
and delicious breakfast or lunch.
AUTO SKILLS CENTER
The ASC has
seven working stalls and five vehicle lifts for oil changes and repair work.
Computer-diagnostic capabilities are available to help determine engine
problems. Auto hobbyists may rent a bay and work on their own vehicles. Other
patrons may leave their vehicle for our competent, courteous personnel to
perform minor repair and maintenance services including engine repair, brake
repair, tune-ups, tire rotation, pre-purchase inspections, fluid servicing, and
engine analysis.
