No matter how well you've planned, emergencies do happen.  What should you do in case of emergency while you are traveling?

First of all make sure you have all your important papers with you, not packed with your household goods.  SITES has information on all locations worldwide.  You can customize a personal relocation plan using SITES on the internet. Carry numbers for your commander, orderly room, command post, and your sponsor.  They can be invaluable in case of emergency while in transit.  It is important for you to contact someone at your gaining unit and let them know where and how you are.

The American Red Cross may be available for emergency assistance.  Contact the nearest chaper; phone numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone directory.  They can sometimes help with emergency financial assistance and contacting individuals that will need to know where you are and what's happening.   Locate the nearest military installation for help.  You may be able to obtain assistance from the Air Force Aid Officer at the Family Support Center, Navy Emergency Relief or Army Emergency Relief.
