NOTE: If you get married before you PCS, you must
inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given
them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse
if you do not follow proper procedures.
Reporting-in
procedures: When arriving during normal duty hours, Monday through
Friday, 0730-1630, report to the "Offutt Welcome Center" where you can arrange
to meet your sponsor or get directions to your unit. The "Offutt
Welcome Center" is located at the intersection of HWY 370 and Fort Crook
Road. The overall goal of the Welcome Center is to minimize the
impact of relocation for our military and civilian families arriving at Offutt
AFB. The Welcome Center provides an atmosphere that fosters a sense
of community among our families, and at the same time bridges the Bellevue and
Offutt communities together. The Welcome Center is designed to offer
a warm and inviting environment where newcomers can meet with their sponsors,
and become acquainted with the local community; assisted by a knowledgeable FSC
representative who is available to provide immediate and helpful
assistance. Information will be available on base programs and
services, housing, schools, employment, recreational activities and community
resources. Personnel visiting the Welcome Center will have access to
the Internet, telephones, maps and array of informative handouts. Please call
the Welcome Center if there is bad winter weather to make sure the base is
open. (The Welcome Center is also closed on federal holidays.)
Your initial sign-in will be with your unit orderly
room.
Your orderly room will schedule you for your
inprocessing briefing, and at that briefing you will be scheduled for Right
Start, the half-day newcomers briefing. You will also be scheduled
for a number of mandatory briefings for first term airmen during your first few
weeks on the base.
If you arrive after normal duty hours, report to the
Offutt Inns Reception Office in Building 44, 105 Grants Pass.
