BASE VEHICLE CHECKS - All vehicles entering or leaving area bases
are subject to search. Weapons of any kind are forbidden on base

BASE REGISTRATION - To register your
vehicle on base, you must have a DOD ID card, valid driver's license, valid
certificate of state registration, and proof of insurance. If your vehicle is
registered in a state that does not require a safety inspection, you will most
likely not need to get a Virginia or North Carolina safety inspection before
obtaining a permanent base registration sticker. However, current state safety
inspection stickers are required for all vehicles registered in states requiring
a safety inspection, such as Virginia and North Carolina. Insurance coverage
must meet the minimum required by the Virginia Motor Vehicle Liability Law. DOD
decals must be physically attached to the vehicle. Vehicle decals for
motorcycles will be issued only after the owner has completed an approved
Motorcycle Operators Course. Refer to contacts/links for further
