Contact the Housing Office to obtain information on housing in
the surrounding area. They will provide you with a complete referral
package, including: 1) A computerized printout of rentals available in the local
community (within 60 minutes). 2) A list of local Real Estate agents. 3) A list
of local apartment complexes. 4) An area map and a naval complex map. 5) A
Housing Referral Office informational guide.
Prior to signing a lease
check with one of the housing counselors for information on security deposits,
check in/out inspections, group sharing, renter's insurance, and military
clauses.
The Housing Office has a variety of furnished and unfurnished
listings averaging $500 - $1,500. Security deposits, up to one
month's rent, are required in most instances.
Housing counselors are
available to assist you with any difficulties you may encounter negotiating,
during, or terminating your lease agreement.
Note: Provision
of military clause is not a legal requirement in the State of Rhode
Island.
