The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a Department of Defense initiative for the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child physical abuse, child neglect, child sexual abuse, spouse abuse, and sexual assault.

Anyone suspecting child abuse should notify a Family Advocacy Representative (FAR) or Fleet and Family Support Center clinical counselor.  For spouse abuse, ensure the individuals are aware help is available and/or consult the FAP staff.  Just call the number listed in the contacts section.

It is the responsibility of the FAR to gather information about the alleged case.  The goal of the program is to provide victims support, strengthen families, and keep valuable service members in the Navy.
