All motorized vehicles operated aboard the Air Station must be
registered with the vehicle registration section of Headquarters and
Headquarters Squadron S-1.
Permanent decals are issued at Building AS-211
on Bankroft Street. Decals are not issued on weekends, holidays or during
extremely cold weather.
The following documents are required to obtain a
temporary pass:
~Valid Armed Forces identification card
~Valid
state registration for the vehicle
~Valid state operators
license
~Proof of valid insurance with all driver's names on the
policy
In addition to requirements listed the following are required for
a permanent pass
~A valid motor vehicle inspection sticker (vehicles
registered in the states that require state inspection must be inspected at
either the base service station or any North Carolina inspection
station)
~Notarized permission from owner when the vehicle belongs to a
spouse or other relative
~Men and women under the age of 26 must present
evidence of having completed the Driver's Improvement Course offered here or at
other Marine Corps Bases
~Marines and Sailors reporting to temporary
additional duty here(TAD), should present a copy of their orders to obtain a
temporary pass for the duration of their duties here.
**Motorcycle
operators - In addition to the requirements listed above, you must have in your
possession an endorsed motorcycle license from North Carolina or your home
state, and have proof of attending a motorcycle safety course, regardless of
age.
The term "vehicle" includes motorcyles, automobiles, trailers, vans
and boats regularly parked or garaged overnight in NC.
