BRANCH DENTAL CLINIC
The Dental Clinic, a branch of Naval
Dental Center, Newport, RI, provides dental care for active duty personnel of
SUBASE, tenant activities, forces afloat, and military personnel of other armed
services stationed in the greater New London area. Retired personnel
living nearby may receive limited routine treatment on a time-available and
space-available basis. Examinations and oral diagnoses are provided
between 0700-1000 and 1200-1400, Monday through Friday, on a walk in
basis. Appointments for further treatment are made subsequent to the
diagnostic examination. Emergencies will be seen anytime.
The
21-chair main clinic is located in Bldg. 341 on upper base, near the Morton Hall
gymnasium. Specialties available at the clinic include Endodontics,
Oral Hygiene, Oral Surgery, and Periodontics. A satellite activity,
located at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, provides dental
care for active duty personnel attached to submarines under
construction.
Emergency dental treatment is available for dependents of
active duty personnel. The clinic initiates treatment for the
emergency with follow up treatment to be performed by a civilian dentist.
