Volunteering is not only personally rewarding, it provides a service to others, and often enhances job skills and future employment opportunities. Military members may also become eligible for the Volunteer Service Medal. Members of the Nellis community have been recognized at the national level for their volunteer service.
Volunteers are needed to support many on-base agencies. The Family Support Center Volunteer Coordinator maintains an extensive listing of volunteer opportunities.
Child Care at the Nellis Child Development Centers is available to volunteers that work in the Family Support Center.
The Air Force Aid Society pays child care when the spouse of an active-duty Air Force member volunteers at certain on-base agencies. Check with the Volunteer Coordinator for details.
