Information on Federal and non-appropriated fund (NAF) jobs can
be found in Quick Links.
Although there is a Civilian Personnel office on
Nellis AFB, the Air Force Personnel Center website, found in Contacts/Links, is
the only point for the posting of job announcements and for submission of
resumes for Department of the Air Force civil service employment.
Non-appropriated Fund job postings and applications are handled on-base
through the Services Division Human Resource Office.
Exchange and
Commissary (DECA) applications are taken either on-site or at the respective
websites.
Military Spouse Preference provides priority in the employment
selection process for military spouses who are relocating as a result of their
military spouse's PCS. Spouse preference does not apply to separation
or retirement moves. Spouses must be found best-qualified for the
position and may exercise preference no more than one time per permanent
relocation of the sponsor. Preference does not mean that positions
will be created or made available especially for military spouses or that
spouses will be given any special appointing authority. Preference
does not provide any guarantee of employment. Preference is limited to DoD
employment (appropriated and non-appropriated fund jobs, including installation
Exchange); it is not applicable to employment with other federal
agencies.
If you are a current civil service employee and will be coming
to Nellis with Military Spouse Preference, the following items are a must: AF
resume; SF50 showing that you are on Leave Without Pay (LWOP), SF50 showing your
appointment, your latest performance appraisal, and your spouse's orders. You
must make an appointment with Civilian Personnel and they will maintain all of
the information at Nellis.
Call the Family Support Center at
702-652-3327/DSN 682-3327 if you would like a copy of individual federal web
sites faxed or mailed to you.
Almost every federal agency has an office
in southern Nevada. See Contacts/Listings for more infomation on
federal jobs.
