There is limited or no adult education on the installation but
the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District offers day and evening classes
providing an avenue for adults to earn a high school diploma or a General
Educational Development (GED) certificate. Additional courses offered
include parenting education, citizenship classes, computer lab, English as a
Second Language, Alzheimer Day Care and Stroke Handicapped Adult Rehabilitation
education (SHARE), and classes tailored for older adults.
Regional
Occupational Program: Students 16 years and older may attend career
training programs through the ROP program. Courses provide students
with training in entry level skills and upgrading of current skills for those
reentering the job market. The program maintains a high rate of job
placement for its many successful students. Courses include computer
technology, travel/tourism, childcare, health careers, accounting, multi-media,
etc.
