FAMILY HOUSING

On May 1, 2002, the Fort Meade Family Housing Mission was privatized and transferred to Meade Communities, LLC. Many new and exciting changes are now in store for the military families of Fort Meade. These changes include local neighborhood offices, more rapid responses to maintenance responses, and lawn care, just to name a few.
The Picerne Family Housing Offices will assist you in securing housing on or off post.  Fort George G. Meade has a total of 2,862 sets of quarters, of which 488 are allocated to officers and 2,374 to enlisted personnel. These quarters are located in  six major housing areas on post.

Argonne Hills - This is the largest housing area. It consists of 1400 units of two to four bedrooms. These are single, duplex, and multi-family townhouse units for junior enlisted, company and field grade officers.

Old Meade Heights is composed of 250 housing units in two-story apartment buildings, with two to four bedroom apartments. This housing is vacant and scheduled for demolition.

New Meade Heights and Clark Road - This housing area was constructed in 1995-1996 for junior enlisted personnel. Consists of 262 townhouses of two to four bedrooms.

Geraghty Village (2682-2694) is composed of 48 three bedroom townhouse units for company grade officers.

MacArthur Manor (2901-3564) is composed of multi-dwelling quarters and provides housing for officer and enlisted personnel.

Shea Court, located in the 4800 area, is composed of multi-dwelling quarters consisting of two and four bedroom units designated as officer housing for four bedroom and two bedroom for junior enlisted personnel. The 2500 and 4200 areas are composed of single family Cape Cod houses.  They are designated for enlisted personnel in the grade of E9.  The 4300 and 4500 areas are designated for general and flag officers, colonels, and Navy captains.
Family quarters are authorized for all military personnel in all grades.  There are several extensive modernization projects planned and under way.  To contact the Housing Office, call (410) 305-1044.

Guest House (Abrams Hall)

The newly renovated Fort Meade Guest House operates in a hotel concept with cable television, private bath, refrigerator and microwave.  Other features of the improved guest house include a kitchen, laundry room and big screen television in the lobby.  For the younger guests, there is a newly equipped playground.  Burger King adjoins the guest house parking lot, as does the Post Exchange and Commissary.  Unfortunately, the guest house DOES NOT ACCEPT PETS.

Reservations are accepted 30 days in advance.  Personnel who are on temporary duty or permanent change of station (PCS) orders, either in or out-processing, have precedence.  PCS personnel may stay at Abrams Hall seven days when departing Fort Meade, or 30 days upon arrival.  For reservations or more information, call (410) 672-1975 or (301) 677-5660.
