Military personnel, whether planning to rent or buy are required
to process through Housing Referral Services located in the Base Housing Office
on Mountain Home AFB, Bldg 182. The Housing Referral Services department will
insure you are receiving fair and equal opportunity in all community housing,
show the location of the housing, provide general information on utilities, real
estate, the community, provide guidelines for tenant-landlord responsibilities
and information on income-adjusted rentals available.
Usually, in
addition to the first month's rent, landlords require a security/cleaning
deposit which is ordinarily one-half of the monthly rental. Only a
few landlords allow pets. Some landlords may wish to make their
decision after viewing the individual pet. A pet deposit may be required in
addition to the security/cleaning deposit. Currently, rentals are
hard to find, alot of houses are not listed with any agency, word of mouth, or
signs in the window are sometimes the only way to find a house to
rent.
