The housing office on station can provide you with a list of
apartments in the community depending on your needs (Howe Rd.,Bldg.
2705). A civilian apartment search agency in the community, Relocation Central,
can also assist with finding an apartment at no charge to you (619-688-2101).
The cost of rentals vary depending on the location in and around San
Diego.
Don't forget to request your Dislocation Allowance (equal
to two months BAH) if you are eligible. Be prepared to cover your temporary
living expenses in advance of reimbursement. You will need one month's rent in
advance with at least one-half of a month's rent as a deposit. Be sure to ask
about a special "military discount" offered by some property managers.
Deposits for gas and electric may be waived entirely by taking an energy
conservation class on a Saturday. Telephone deposits and installation charges
