A recent change has been made in regards to being able to ship a second vehicle within CONUS.  The new regulation states that a second car can be shipped when it is cost-effective to the Government and provided that the:
a. The member owns more than one POV (privately-owned-vehicle) which needs to be relocated to the new duty station.
b. The member and dependents travel one time in one POV.
c. The cost of shipment and commercial transportation of the POV to be shipped does not exceed the costs of MALT plus per diem for driving two POV's to the new duty station.
d. The member is financially responsible for all excess costs or additional expenses associated with the transportation of the second vehicle.
e. The member is responsible for arranging for shipment of a second vehicle.
