The Meridian area has many choices for pre-school and
kindergarten. Both public school systems (Meridian Public Schools and
Lauderdale County Public Schools) have kindergarten programs for children
starting at age 5. The Head-Start program is a free service available
for 3 & 4 year-olds. Meridian has a variety of private day-care
and kindergartens as well, some affiliated with local
churches. Search your Meridian Yellow Pages or call the Fleet &
Family Support Center for a list of local day-cares and
kindergartens.
