A special needs family member should be enrolled in the Special
Needs Identification Program (SNI) through Family Advocacy. The
office has a listing of local and national resources. The Wichita
community has several services for family members with special
needs. Please check with the individual school districts for
information on enrollment and specific programs with the school.
FOR
CHILDCARE NEEDS:
- For on-base childcare or before/after school care the
member must provide a note from a doctor indicating any necessary modifications
to the environment or activities. There is not an additional charge
for special needs children.
- For off-base childcare or before/after
school care, details will be dependent on the care facility. Care may
not be available at all centers. Ask about any additional
charges.
