The Family Support Program is a program designed to maximize
positive parental-infant interaction through education and support by the Family
Advocacy Nurse and staff. The critical time for this development is
through pregnancy to the child's third birthday. Tools used to
facilitate this interaction are early intervention through office visits,
prenatal classes, mailings, telephone consults, parenting classes and support
groups. The McConnell Playgroup meets on Friday mornings 10:00 am to
11:30 am. This group provides an opportunity for parents to network
with other parents, Family Advocacy Nurse, and Outreach Manager. This
group is instrumental in answering questions about pregnancy and/or
parenting. It is open to all parents who have pre-school age
children.
The Family Advocacy Nurse is co-located in the OB/GYN Office of
the McConnell Medical Clinic.
