No matter how well you've planned, emergencies do happen.  What should you do in case of emergency while you are traveling?

Carry your important papers (orders, ID cards, passports, travelers checks, telephone numbers for your relatives, your sponsor, your gaining unit orderly room, and the command post here at McChord.  They will be invaluable in case of an emergency while traveling.

The American Red Cross is always available for emergency aid anywhere you may be.  Contact the nearest chapter (phone numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone directory).  They can sometimes help with emergency financial assistance and contacting individuals who will need to know where you are and what's happening or, go to the closest military installation Financial Aid Office (AFA; AER; Navy Relief).
