There are a variety of government job possibilities at
Maxwell-Gunter. This section will discuss some of the agencies on
base that have government job opportunities.
USAF Civil Service Job
Opportunities:
Air Force federal civil service positions at Maxwell and
Gunter Annex are managed by the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) in San
Antonio, TX. AFPC is the central personnel center for all Air Force
federal civil service positions. To receive employment consideration
for Maxwell AFB vacancies advertised through the AFPC you may submit a resume to
AFPC. This resume will be maintained on file at AFPC. As vacancies occur for
which you have an interest, you may self nominate using the procedures outlined
in the Job Kit at the AFPC web site. You may also submit an application or
resume to the Maxwell AFB Civilian Personnel Flight for any advertised vacancies
that will be filled from locally managed applicant registers.
The
Maxwell Civilian Personnel Office can provide assistance with the process of
applying for federal positions as well as provide current federal employees with
updated information.
Employment Application Procedures at Maxwell
AFB:
The Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) manages a significant portion
of the employment services for Maxwell AFB. AFPC support services include
accepting applications, announcing vacancies, and referring lists of qualified
applicants to supervisors. There are exceptions, however, wherein the Maxwell
AFB Civilian Personnel Flight (CPF) manages recruitment and hiring actions using
local registers. For instance, the Maxwell AFB CPF manages recruitment registers
for professor positions within Air University. Applicants seeking
employment at Maxwell AFB should pay particular attention to instructions on
recruitment announcements and follow appropriate procedures to receive
consideration for locally managed recruitment registers.
External
Applicants:
If you are seeking employment at Maxwell AFB and are not
currently a permanent employment at this location, this information is important
to you. The vacancy announcements recruiting external candidates describe
specific application procedures that pertain to locally managed vacancies or to
those vacancies managed by AFPC. AFPC requires resumes to be formatted in a
specific way. Therefore, we recommend you create such a resume, which will be
accepted by both AFPC and Maxwell AFB. The electronic Resume Writer is available
at the AFPC Web Site.
Job Kit:
The AFPC has developed a Job Kit
that can assist you in applying for vacancies. Please read and use the
information contained therein to gain an understanding on how the new employment
procedures work and how you may submit a resume for employment
consideration.
