California code requires that a child must be five (5) years old
on or before December 2 of that school year to enter kindergarten in the state
of California.
On a case-by-case basis, the Board of Education may admit
a child who has attained the age of five years at any time during the school
year with the approval of the parent or guardian, subject to the following
conditions:
- The Principal determines that the admittance is in the best
interest of the child.
- The parent or guardian is given information
regarding the advantages and disadvantages and any other explanatory information
about the effect of this early admittance.
Evidence of Age (Education

Prior to admission, the parent or guardian must present proof of
age in the form of one of the following:

HEALTH EXAMINATION
California Law
requires evidence of a health examination for school prior to entry. It must be
conducted by a medical professional licensed in the United States. Report Forms
can be obtained at the school office or at the Riverside County Department of
Health Services. A waiver (PM 171B) may be signed if a parent does not want the
child to have an examination.
SCHOOL STAFF WILL REQUEST THE FOLLOWING
ITEMS AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION:
. Evidence of birth date, such as a
certified birth certificate, baptismal certificate duly attested, or a
passport.
. Student's social security number
. Immunization
Verification
. Report of health examination for kindergarten and first
grade entry.
. The Report of Health Examination for School
Entry must be signed and dated by the doctor performing the physical.
The physical exam may be done up to a maximum of six months prior to entry into
kindergarten.
. Proof of residency: (Two Documents Required) Either a
rent receipt, close of escrow papers, lease agreement or mortgage verification,
and a utility bill, tax bill, or bank statement.

Immunization Requirements
The following
immunizations are required for school enrollment by the State of California. An
official record of the student's immunization record must be presented as
verification of immunization. This record can be a California Yellow
Immunization Card, a medical record from the physician or an official school
record. The record must be signed or stamped by the physician or by a school
official.
- TB All students enrolling in a Riverside County school for the
first time (including all kindergartners) must have an intradermal (Mantoux) TB
skin test given within the last 15 months. Written evidence of a negative test
must be submitted prior to enrollment. (If students have previously attended a
Riverside County School and have not been out of the country for more than a
year, they do not need a TB test)
- Polio 4 doses at any age or 3 doses
for ages 4-6 If one dose was given on or after 4th birthday* or 3 doses for ages
7-17 If one was given on or after 2nd birthday*
- DPT 5 doses at any age

All immunizations must be
current, meaning students have completed the above requirements or are not yet
due for another dose.
Students shall be exempt from immunization only if
a parent or guardian signs a waiver after speaking with the school health
technician or school nurse. Parents must also provide either a written statement
on the waiver indicating that immunization is contrary to his or her beliefs. OR
a written statement from a licensed physician indicating the student's physical
condition or medical circumstances are such that immunization is not considered
safe.
The following is an overview of the school districts in the
communities closest to March ARB.
The Riverside Unified School
District enrolls 42,012 students in kindergarten through grade 12, and covers a
major portion of the city of Riverside, as well as the Highgrove and Woodcrest
areas outside the city. The District operates 1 special education pre-school
Sunshine Early Childhood Center) and 30 elementary
schools. 6,714 students (16%) are classified as Limited
English Proficient, and 13,567 (32.3%) qualify for the compensatory education
program. The district employs 1,830 classroom teachers, and 127 staff members
for pupil services. Programs & services for special needs students include
modification of the regular classroom, provision of related services and staff
such as speech therapy, adapted PE, resource specialist, itinerant teacher
(hearing- & visually-impaired students), and self-contained
classroom.
Alvord Unified School District serves the western portion
of the City of Riverside and a small portion of eastern Corona. The
district has an enrollment of 19,441 students, and employs 860 classroom
teachers and 58 staff for pupil services. 7,652 students (39.4%) are classified
as Limited English Proficient, and 8,536 (43.9%) qualify for the compensatory
education program. The district operates twelve year round elementary
schools. Programs and services are available to support special needs
students. Other district programs include Gifted Education (GATE), after-school
programs (Prime Time, middle school level), and P.E.P. grant programs (Physical
Fitness, all grade levels).
The Jurupa Unified School District
operates 16 elementary schools. The district has an enrollment of 20,924
students, and employs 912 classroom teachers and 60 staff for pupil services.
5,967 students (28.5%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 10,799
(51.6%) qualify for the compensatory education program. The district includes
the communities of Riverside & Mira Loma. District programs include Gifted
Education (GATE, grades 3-8). A library is available in each of the

The Moreno Valley Unified School District operates 19
elementary schools and 1 K-12 charter school and 1 community day
school. The district enrollment is 34,792 students. 10,087 students
(29%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 25,734 students (74%)
qualify for the compensatory education program. The district employs 1,552
classroom teachers, and 110 staff members for pupil services. A variety of
programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking
(LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for
all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and
counseling.
The Val Verde Unified School District operates 8
elementary schools. The district enrollment stands
at 132,447 students. 3,771 students (28%) are classified as Limited
English Proficient, and 6,713 students (49.9%) qualify for the compensatory
education program. The district employs 547 classroom teachers, and 36 staff
members for pupil services. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are
provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special
Needs students. Support services for all students, as needed, include
speech/language, tutoring and counseling. Extra-curricular activities are
offered at all grade levels, and some of the elementary schools offer an
after-school child care, recreation & enrichment program, either through
grant funding or a cooperative arrangement with the city parks & recreation
department.
The Corona-Norco Unified School District operates 25
elementary schools. The district has 43,998 students. 7,730 students
(16.8%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 8,321 students (18.9%)
qualify for the compensatory education program. The district employs 2,079
classroom teachers, and 121 staff members for pupil services. A variety of
programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking
(LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for
all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and
counseling.
The Hemet Unified School District operates 13 elementary
schools. The district has 19,693 students. 2,577 students (13.1%) are
classified as Limited English Proficient, and 12,376 students (62.8%) qualify
for the compensatory education program. The district employs 908 classroom
teachers, and 63 staff members for pupil services. A variety of programs,
services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted
& Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for all students,

The
Temecula Valley Unified School District operates 13 elementary
schools. The district has 23,496 students. 1,349 students (5.7%) are
classified as Limited English Proficient, and 728 students (3.1%) qualify for
the compensatory education program. The district employs 1,138 classroom
teachers, and 84 staff members for pupil services. A variety of programs,
services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted
& Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for all students,

before- & after-school child care at district elementary schools, with
programs also available during school holidays, breaks, and during the
summer.
The Murrietta Valley Unified School District(MVUSD)has 9
elementary schools. The district enrollment is 17,480 students. 432
students (2.5%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 405 (2.3%)
qualify for the compensatory education program. The district employs 799
classroom teachers, and 57 staff members for pupil services. A variety of
programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking
(LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for
all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and
counseling. You may pick up registration packets at your neighborhood
elementary school. At certain times during the school year MVUSD Elementary and
Middle Schools may be at or near capacity. When that occurs, new students may be
assigned to any school in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District where

The Perris Elementary School
District operates 7 elementary/K-6 schools), which serve 5,235 students. 2,451
students (46.8%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 5,030 (96.1%)
qualify for the compensatory education program. The district employs 254
classroom teachers, and 11 staff members for pupil services. A variety of
programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking
(LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for

The Lake Elsinore Unified School District operates 13
elementary schools. The district has 19,711 students. 3,282 students
(16.7%) are classified as Limited English Proficient, and 3,932 (19.9%) qualify

Menifee Union Elementary School District operates 5 elementary
