MacDill actively participates in the Rental Partnership Program. Any active duty, DOD military member serviced by MacDill, single or married, who is authorized to live off base receiving BAH may participate in this program. The program requires members to pay their rent by allotment, in addition to waiving security deposits and application fees. Pet fees do apply. There are over 60 apartment communities throughout the Tampa, Brandon, Clearwater and St. Petersburg area, participating in the program. Discounts being offered to qualified military members range from 5-10%. Utilities are NOT INCLUDED. We strongly encourage you to plan a house hunting trip and secure housing before signing in to MacDill. Locating rental housing in the area takes approximately 7 - 10 days. Security deposits normally equal one months rent. The average leases in the Tampa area are 7 to 12 months, with most landlords willing to put the military clause in the lease in the event of a PCS. Personnel requiring a three bedroom apartment or four bedroom house may have difficulty finding these rentals close to base.
