There are 1,182 miles of freeways and highways in Los Angeles and
nearby Ventura counties. To keep track of them all, purchase a Thomas
Guide at the Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) BX or at most book stores or
office supply stores. The LAAFB Rideshare Office has information on
carpools, vanpools and bus lines.
Los Angeles County offers bus and light
rail transportation that connects most cities. Torrance has it's own
bus system that connects with LA's system.

Sales in Area B sells pass books for the MAX (Municipal Area Express) bus
service running between Fort MacArthur and El Segundo. The customer
store at Aerospace Corporation sells MTA tokens, Torrance Transit tokens and MAX
pass books. In addition, tokens and monthly MTA passes can be
purchased from the MTA accounting department on a monthly or yearly
basis.
Los Angeles International Airport is close to the
base. Smaller airports are in Burbank and Long Beach.
