SHUTTLE BUS: A Shuttle Bus service is being offered
between Area A and Area B. The redevelopment of Area B has
constricted traffic flow and has created a parking shortage. In order
to help alleviate the traffic and parking problems the 61 ABG is offering a
shuttle bus service. When going to Area B consider walking or taking
the Shuttle Bus whenever possible. The shuttle will make pickup/drop
approximately every 20 minutes throughout the work week. The
following is the schedule of stops and times.
Depart Area A, Bldg. 120
main entrance every 20 minutes from 0800 until the last bus at 1520 (0, 20, and
40 after the hour) to Bldg. 110 crosswalk and then on to North Area
B.
Depart North Area B, Bldg. 219 (new Douglas St. gate side) every 20
minutes from 0810 until the last bus at 1510 (10, 30 and 50 after the hour) to
Area A.
TO/FROM FORT MACARTHUR: There is limited bus service
primarily for enlisted members residing in dorms at Fort MacArthur. The bus
leaves the dorm at 6:15am and departs LAAFB at 4:30pm daily.
LONG TERM
PARKING: Long-term parking is available only for individuals on TDY
orders. Register your car with Security Forces at Gate 1, Area
A. Space is limited, and cars without proper approval will be
towed.
LAX SHUTTLE: Shuttle service between LAAFB
and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is operated by Aerospace Corporation
and runs every 20 minutes from 5:40am until 4:00pm. The shuttle
travels from the Aerospace Corporation to LAX and back, but not to Area A or
Area B.
RIDESHARE: The Rideshare Office provides
lists of carpool and vanpool operators who travel to the Los Angeles AFB area
from all over Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and other
counties. Current bus schedules are available in the Rideshare Office
and various information centers throughout the base. Base personnel
are eligible for carpool incentives.
