Being deployed can bring on all sorts of stress and the
possibilty of upcoming problems. At the Family Support Center the
Readiness NCO will brief you on what you can expect when you deploy and what the
Family Support Center can do to assist family members cope with your
absence. Many programs have been established to assist your love
ones, for example: "Hearts Apart Program" (3 twenty minute calls per
week to destinations with DSN capability), "Video Link" (allows family members
to see their deployed member using video teleconferencing capability), a free
$20 phone card for deploying members, "Car Care Because We Care" a free oil
change/lubriction/safety check at Auto Pride, "Give Parents a Break" (Air Force
Aid program designed to assist parents needing a break from the stresses of
parenting during separation), "Reunion Information" (allows family members to
prepare for the member's transition back into the family setting), "Resource
Room" (offers Internet services and email to any ID card holder. You can also
rest assured that the Family Support Center Staff is available to assist when
your loved ones need help.
