There are six large malls in the Hampton Roads
area. Major stores consist of Dillards, Hechts, JC Penney, Nordstrom,
Sears, Stein Mart, and Lord and Taylor. There are also numerous Wal-Marts,
Kmarts, Target, and Kohls.
Grocery shopping stores consist of Farm Fresh,
Food Lion, Kroger, Harris Teetar and other smaller stores.
You will find
most of the national name brand restaurants in the Hampton Roads areas: Red
Lobster, Olive Garden, and Bennigans, just to name a few. The area is known to
have some of the best seafood restaurants on the east coast. No matter what your
taste buds are, you can satisfy them with the many dining facilities in the
area.
SALES TAX in Virginia is 5.0%. Other local taxes which
one should be aware of are 10% for lodging and 9% at restaurants.
