Kings County, Social Services Division consists of Adult
Protective Services, In Home Supportive Services; Child Welfare
Services.
The Social Services Division provides mandated
service to individuals abused, and provides neglected institutional care when no
other form of care is appropriate, and to help individuals and families achieve
and maintain the highest level of independence, self-support, and
self-sufficiency possible within the range and scope of their
capabilities. Mandated services for children and families consist of
information and referral, emergency response, family maintenance, family
reunification, permanent placement, adoption, foster home licensing, and
independent living skills.
