The Relocation Loan Closet offers inbound and outbound personnel
dish kits, pots and pan kits, futons, irons, ironing boards, etc. for short-term
use. For additional information on items available, please call the Loan Closet
at 830-298-5631 or 830-298-5474 (DSN: 732-5631 or 5474). The program is managed
by the Outdoor Recreation/Supply and is located at 1 Liberty Drive, Building
510. There is an answering machine for times when the Coordinator is
not available. Please leave a message and you will be contacted at
the earliest time possible.
Additionally, the Family Support
Center (FSC) manages a Furniture Loan Program. The program offers beds, couches,
tables, chairs, dressers and nightstands to individuals who are newly married
and establishing a household. Eligibility is based on financial need
and requires an individual appointment with the Personal Financial Management
Counselor. All program participants must prepare a budget with the
assistance of a FSC financial counselor and prepare a sound plan to purchase
furniture on a "pay as you go" basis.
Laughlin AFB personnel
PCSing to and from overseas locations may be eligible to use the Furniture Loan
Program under the following conditions:
- household goods will be
shipped overseas at least 30 days prior to your departure from Laughlin
AFB.
- household goods will arrive at least 30 days after your
report date to Laughlin AFB from an overseas installation.
If you opt to
participant in any of the Loan Closet programs, you must provide transportation
and personnel to assist with moving items to and from the loan closets.
