The San Felipe-Del Rio Consolidated ISD has a 9th grade campus
and a separate campus for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. They are
located geographically next to each other. The senior graduating class is
approximately 450-500. There are about 1,900 students on this 5A campus who
compete academically and athletically with San Antonio 5A high schools. The Del
Rio High School also offers dual enrollment for those students interested in
earning college credit.
There are a variety of activities for students -
sports, cheerleading, choir, orchestra, bands, Student Council, and many
more. There are some that you may find unique to the area such as the
Mariachi Club. Del Rio HS also has an R.O.T.C. program.
Some
activities are part of the school day, and some take place after school,
evenings, or weekends. Transportation outside of the regular school day is
normally not provided, except for bus transportation to school-sanctioned
out-of-town events such as games, music competitions, etc. See the topic Family
Issues-Local Community-Youth Services for more information on activities for
youth.
Additionally, there is one non-accredited private high school in
the Del Rio area, Amistad Christian Academy as well as an accredited charter
school, Eagle Academy of Del Rio.
