There are numerous events scheduled annually to appeal to a wide
range of ages and interests.
Morale, Welfare, and Recreation can provide
information on programs, facilities, and special discounts for military members
and their families. The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR)
Department has many clubs and organizations which provide opportunities to
become involved and explore the Pacific Northwest. Year round youth
and single activities, auto hobby shop, flying, biking, golf course, bowling,
fitness centers, and outdoor recreation areas are all representative of the many
things to do here at NAES Lakehurst and the surrounding community.
MWR's
Information Tickets & Tours Office, located in the MWR Bldg. 123, is your
first stop for fun. Monthly trips and tours to Broadway shows, shopping and
points of interest are offered in addition to discounted tickets to movie
theaters and amusement parks.
The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Youth
Center Program and School Age Care Program (SAC) have regularly scheduled
programs and activities including summer youth activities and
camps.
MWR in conjunction with Fleet & Family Support
Programs sponsors annual events that highlight: Month of the Military Child,
Military Family Appreciation and Military Spouse
Appreciation.
There are many local events that are
free. Schedules for summer fireworks displays and free concerts are
available in the Fleet and Family Support Center. See your Relocation
Assistance Program specialist there. Thousands of people flock to the New Jersey
Shore each year to take advantage of numerous recreational
activities. Check out the Ocean County Connection at the Toms River
Mall for ideas on where to go for fun. Information on indoor and outdoor
amusements, nature activities, sporting events, festivals and food can also be
found in your Fleet and Family Support Center. See the
"Contacts/Links" in the "Local Community" topic of this site for more
information on what is available in the area.
