Numerous functions at Lackland AFB are outsourced to contractors. This includes cleaning services, gate guards, some communication and computer systems, dining halls, vendors in AAFES facilities, and more.

Other possible sources of employment opportunities are through businesses that lease space on Kelly USA. Some of those companies have contracts with the Department of Defense or with Lackland AFB. The leases are administered through the Greater Kelly Development Authority.
