WHMC is the Air Force's foremost provider of medical education and provides the Air Force with 85% of all its dental specialists.
The primary mission of the Dental Service is to provide dental health care to active duty members. Family members and retired military may have limited accessibility to dental care in order to offer training opportunities to the dental resident program. In those cases, service will be offered on a first come/first served basis if patient needs coincide with training requirements.
Dental care is available between 7:00am-11:00am and 12:00pm-4:00pm, Mon-Fri. Scheduled appointments are available for permanent party and student personnel stationed on Lackland.
Family members of active duty personnel are reminded that the Dependent Dental Plan (DDP) covers 100 percent of fees charged by civilian dentists for the relief of pain.
