There are three child development centers on Lackland
AFB. Total slots available are 550. There is little or no
waiting list for children ages 3-5. There may be a short waiting list
for other age groups.
To apply for a slot, contact the Child Care
Resources and Referral Office. Contact information is in the topic

If you would like to submit an advance
application, complete DD Form 2606 and fax to the Resources and Referral Office
with a copy of your orders. Please be sure to contact them upon your
arrival to ensure that you are on the list. School Age Care (SAC) is accredited
by National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National
School-Age Care Alliance. Location of services is in Bldg
8205.
REQUIREMENTS
School Age Programs are open to active-duty
Military, DoD Civilian, and NAF civilian dependents from kindergarten through
grade 12. Part-Day Enrichment classes are open to eligible children
3-5 years old. Eligibility and priority are established IAW DoD
Instruction 6060.3. Youth must be a current member in good standing
with Lackland Youth Programs.
RATES
A sliding scale based on the
annual family income determines the fee using DoD Form 2652. All fees
are to be paid the Friday before the week of care. On full day camps,
child care may not exceed 10 hours.
