compound or in one of the twelve rental stalls. The shop is well
equipped for performing auto maintenance and repair work ranging from minor
lubrication jobs to major mechanical overhauls. We also have a
complete welding shop, tire mounting/balancing equipment and a brake drum/rotor
lathe. A car wash and vacuum are located in front of the Hobby
Shop.

has a complete line of large woodworking machines and hand tools to help you
create or repair all types of wood projects.
CERAMIC HOBBY
SHOP: PH:(361) 516-6247 Over 500 different molds are available at the
Ceramic Shop. You may pour your own, have them poured by shop
personnel or purchase from our wide selection of greenware. A resale
shop features all the materials and equipment needed for your creativity.
Instructional classes are offered but beginners are always welcome to come on in
and learn by personal instruction.

Gaia. Outdoor recreation has a great selection of camping, fishing
and outdoor equipment available to rent for a small fee. Included are
Jon boats, canoes, oceans kayaks, camping trailers, lanterns, stoves, ice
chests, sleeping bags, fishing equipment, tables and chairs, EZ-UP canopies,
etc. The friendly personnel can help you to rent these items and to
decide the best place to go for your favorite outdoor
activities. This facility also offers offshore fishing trips
throughout the spring and summer months.
The station has a new RV,
Camping and Recreation area. The NAS Kingsville Recreation FamCamp is
in operation and opened year-round and is located less that a mile from the
front gate and approx. 1/2 mile from the Navy Exchange/Commissary. The RV area
includes 10 sites with water and electricity with 30 & 50
amps. The daily rate is $8. There are also 10 sites with
water only at $3 per day. There is a dump station on the rec
area. The rec area also offers tent camping space ($3 per tent per
night), picnic areas with tables, grills and playground equipment. If you don't
have your own camping gear, the Outdoor Recreation office has RVs, a full range
of camping equipment and bicycles for rent. Please call to reserve

Skeet-trap range is available "free to
active duty" through the Kleberg County Skeet Club located on
base. POC for the Skeet Club is Debbie Marachi. For

Hunting and fishing are also available on
station. Dove, quail and deer are indigenous to south Texas and
hunting is available in the south field area and also at NALF Orange Grove.
Station hunting and fishing permits can be purchased at the ITT
Office. Three ponds are maintained and stocked with fish on a regular
basis. You can get a Texas fishing license at the nearby Wal-Mart;
you will also need a station permit which can be obtained at the Outdoor

gymnasium consists of four racquetball courts, a basketball court, a
weight-exercise room and locker rooms. Equipment is available for
check-out at the Gear Issue Office (361-595-6171). A jogging track on
the grounds adjacent to the gym provides a safe way for joggers to work out with
no danger of automobile traffic. A fitness trail offers some real
challenges to the more proficient. There are also two softball
fields, one football field and several tennis courts. In addition,
the intramural sports program allows men and women the opportunity to
participate in team and individual sports on a year round
basis. Softball, volleyball, golf, football, basketball, and
racquetball are just a few of the examples of the sports
offered. FIT-4-LIFE (361-516-6371), is a fully equipped fitness
center offering 19 Nautilus exercise stations, lifecycles, lifesteps,
treadmills, free-weights, showers, sauna and a whirlpool. It is open
seven days a week and staffed with courteous, trained
personnel.

commercially developed hunting ranch combines the convenience of a resort with
6800 acres of hunting and camping paradise. In addition to white-tail
deer, quail and dove, the avid sportsman can also hunt turkey and feral hogs, as

Escondido, which makes it a great place to watch or photograph birds or other
