The Family Readiness Program at the Airman & Family Readiness
Center provides essential information and services designed to minimize stress
associated with mission related separations. Through information, families can
be more self-sufficient and feel less isolated.
OTHER READINESS
PROGRAMS:
Operation Hero: This is a kid friendly deployment
familiarization program for spouses and children. This event is held
quarterly and limited to the first 100 children signed up.
Hearts Apart:
One weekly fifteen minute phone call is allowed to the TDY/Remote member. Uses
base operators to place the phone call DSN from your home or the Airman &
Family Readiness Center. Call the FSC to get added to the list.
Give
Parents a Break: Is your sponsor remote, deployed or TDY? If so, AFAS
pays for child care on one specific Saturday each month from 4:00 PM to 10:00
PM This is your opportunity for you to take time out for
yourself. See the Airman & Family Readiness Center Readiness NCO
for your certificate.
Video Telephone: This program is
offered to family members who are separated due to deployment, remotes, or TDY
for 30 days or more. Allows 4 - fifteen minute calls per month. Limited to DSN
lines only. Make appointments through the Airman & Family Readiness Center
to coordinate with loved ones at forward location.
Car Care Because We
Care: Free oil/filter change, lube and vehicle safety check is conducted at the
Base Service Station. This program is being offered courtesy of the Air Force
Aid Society (AFAS) and is available to the spouse of an Air Force member who is
deployed for thirty days or more or on remote tours. To obtain a voucher, stop
by the FSC with a copy of the AF member's orders. The voucher is then taken to
the Base Service Station.
E-mail: Free e-mail service is available to
correspond with loved ones. Computers are located at two locations, the FSC main
office and the FSC Annex.
