No matter how well you've planned, emergencies do
happen. What should you do in case of emergency while you are
traveling?
First of all make sure you have all your important papers
with you. Numbers for the OOD, your Command Duty Office and your
sponsor can be invaluable in case of emergency while in
transit.
Should you encounter an emergency enroute to MCBH Kaneohe
Bay, you can call your sponsor or the S-1 of the command you are checking in
to.
Refer to the Major Unit Listing section in SITES for
the numbers to the command S-1s.For newly arriving personnel if there is a
situation that needs emergency attention contact your sponsor for
assistance.
If your sponsor is not available contact your
future command S-1 or officer of the day.
American Red
Cross
The American Red Cross is always available for emergency
aid anywhere you may be. Contact the nearest chapter (phone
numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone
directory). They can sometimes help with emergency financial
assistance and contacting individuals that will need to know where you are
and what's happening.
