CHECK INTO YOUR NEW UNIT/COMMAND IMMEDIATELY UPON ARRIVAL.

Many entitlements and services require command endorsements prior to initiating them.  Examples are Arrival TLA entitlement, DLA request, base housing application, etc ...

For Marines:

The Hawii Installation Personnel Administrative Center or HIPAC Inbound Section is the central point of checking in.  With HIPAC in place, there's a two step "Check-In" process.

  • The Marine must report to his/her gaining command and receive a billet assignment.

  • Then check into IPAC Inbound Section to complete your inprocessing.

Marines may delay or forfeit arrival entitlements if they go on leave status after checking into the command but failed to check into HIPAC.  There are non-retroactive entitlements/reimbursements which cannot be recouped should this occur.  Marines must complete the two step process.

For Navy:

The individual units/commands are responsible for this process.
