The center is accredited by the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and currently certified by the Department of
Defense (DOD). The center has been recently renovated increasing the
capacity from 74 children to 247. Central registration on site is
$18.00 for individuals or $40.00 per family for a fiscal year registration
fee. A parent involvement program is established and
working. Parents are encouraged to participate in center activities,
attend parent education sessions and to volunteer. A CDS parent
newsletter is published quarterly.
All Child Development Services (CDS)
may be used by children 6 weeks through 5 years old, of active duty military and
DOD Civilians. Programs are offered for 6 weeks through 5 year olds
at the Child Development Center (CDC), building 469. These include
full-day, and hourly child care on a space available/emergency basis.The School
Age Services (SAS) program is certified by the Department of Defense and uses
the Youth Services Center for the before and after school program, during
holidays and the summer. SAS provides children with experience
positive individual and group activities with adults and peers that compliment
rather than duplicate the school day. SAS provides educational and
recreational activities which support the youth's needs. This program
has included the addition of a computer and homework center with qualified
teachers for the youth.
