There are two Navy Medical facilities in
the Corpus Christi - Ingleside area. The U.S. Navy Hospital Corpus
Christi is located on board Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. Branch
Medical Clinic Ingleside is located on board Navy Station
Ingleside. When a Tricare eligible person requires referral to a
specialist not available in the two Navy facilities they will be authorized
either to see a local civilian practioner or sent to San Antonio to be seen at
either Brooke Army Medical Center of Wilford Hall USAF Medical
Center.
It is your responsibility to enroll yourself
and your family members in Tricare. Call the Branch Medical Clinic
for more information at (361) 776-4575 or the Tricare Service Center at
1-800-406-2832, or visit the Tricare Service Center located on Navy Station
Ingleside, across the parking lot from the Branch Medical Clinic
Ingleside.
All active duty personnel are enrolled in
Tricare Prime and are entitled to receive comprehensive medical
treatment. All eligible Tricare Prime personnel will be enrolled to
the closest Military Treatment Facility(MTF), with Branch Medical Clinic
Ingleside as the primary option. Excepting active duty personnel, all
eligible Tricare Prime beneficiaries will be enrolled in either Branch Medical
Clinic Ingleside or Naval Hospital Corpus Christi unless the MTF capacity is
full or if the beneficiary is granted a waiver. Waivers may be
obtained by sending a request to the Commanding Officer Naval Hospital Corpus
Christi with explanation for thier case.
Active duty family members; retirees; their family
members; and family members of deceased retired members not enrolled in Tricare
Prime; those who have enrolled in Tricare Prime, but who have been waived to a
civilian physician as their Primary Care Manager are next in the line of
priority for medical services offered at the Branch Medical Clinic (when space
and staffing permit). All others (non-prime enrollees) have last
priority.
