Deployment is part of the life of a
sailor and their family. Navy Station Ingleside(NSI)is no different
than the large Navy bases. With 21 ships homeported here deployments
away from NSI are a regular occurance. Are you and your family ready for you to
deploy? Do you know what you need to do prior to leaving the
area? Does your family know where to go if they need
assistance?
The Fleet and Family Support Center has
trained Deployment Specialists. The Deployment Specialists will give
an hour long briefing about preparing for deployment to all sailors and to the
married dependants upon request from the command. If you missed your
command's Pre-deployment briefing or if you just want an individual briefing
stop by the FFSC and talk with one of our deployment educators. It is
well worth the time!
Mid-deployment briefings are
available upon request from Ombudsman/Family Support Groups/Chain of
Command. These briefing will include news from the crew if at all
possible.
Return and Reunion briefs are
of the utmost importance for the crew and for their family
members. You must know what to expect and how to deal with possible
changes that have occured during the separation. Once again the
Deployment Specialists from the FFSC are ready to brief not only the crew but
the family members back here. Call the FFSC Educaation Specialist to
arrange for any of the above briefings.
