The Hurlburt "Kids in Touch with Kids" program will help youth
find a friend at Hurlburt Field. If interested in having a friend
contact you, mail the following information to the Hurlburt Field Youth Center,
16 SVS/SVYY, 117 McMillan Road, Bldg 90304, Hurlburt Field FL
32544-1057: Name, age, grade, male/female, hobbies/interests,
address, home phone number, arrival to Hurlburt date, and current
base.
There are many employment opportunities for youth 16 and older in
the local area. The base also offers summer employment
opportunities.
The School Age Program services local schools and offers
before and after school care for children 5-12 years. Children are dropped off
in the morning and are offered breakfast and a variety of free choice activities
until they depart to school. Transportation to and from school is provided. Upon
arrival after school, they're offered a nutritious snack and choice of
activities and clubs based on interest. The Summer Camp Program serves children
5 to 12 years of age and operates from 6:15 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Children are served
breakfast, lunch and a snack and participate in activities such as field trips,
swimming, bowling, skating and free choice activities. Fees for both these
programs are based on a sliding scale for total family income.
