IN-PROCESSING
Every newcomer
must report to their Commander's Support Staff (CSS) during normal duty
hours. If you arrive during non-duty hours, report to the Commando
Inn (lodging), and then visit your CSS on the first duty day following
arrival. Your CSS (Orderly Room) is your one-stop for all initial
in-processing actions. There is no longer a need for you to proceed
to the MPF. Your CSS will schedule you for all your unit and base
in-processing appointments. They can also assist you in completing a
new Virtual Record of Emergency Data (vRED) in the virtual MPF.
During
your initial visit to the CSS, you need to have the following items with you:
Sealed PCS Records Package, 3 Copies Of PCS Orders & Amendments (If
Applicable), and Dependent's No-Fee Passports (If Applicable).
One of the
appointments you will be scheduled for is Base In-Processing. At that
appointment you will need to bring an ink pen, and one copy of the vRED (if
already accomplished). During this briefing, you will be in-processed
by the Military Personnel Flight, Medical Records, and the Base Post
Office.
Commando Connection is our newcomer's orientation, which is a
briefing by the 16th Special Operations Wing Commander along with many Hurlburt
Field's agencies. Held at the Base Theater the first Wednesday of
each month, beginning at 0730.
Mandatory for incoming,
permanent-party Air Force members. Spouses are encouraged to attend.
Any
first duty station airmen will also be given class start dates for the Commando
Pride Airman Center which is a mandatory two-week course. The program is 10 duty
days of in-processing, professional briefings, ancillary training, and mission
orientation. The BDU uniform is worn on most days, but an open ranks
inspection in the blue service uniform is also conducted. Students must bring a
complete service uniform, with short-sleeved shirt and a lightweight blue jacket
(during winter months). Mission orientation is a variety of tours
designed to help first duty station airman understand how they fit into an Air
Force Special Operations Command way of life.
