The Family Readiness Program (FRP) is also referred to as the
"Hearts Apart Program"
Services under the FRP "Hearts Apart Program"
include:
1. A variety of information and services for all active duty
military members (single and married)DOD civilians, and family members preparing
for military separation over 14 days due to TDY.
2. Moral and Videophone
(VP): Calls may be placed once a week for 15 minutes on a DSN line.
3.
Phone From Home Program: Personal identification numbers (PIN) will be provided
to spouses of deployed members for one 15 minute call per week.
4. Area
Information: Resources available to families regarding the deployed member's
location.
5. Monthly Follow-Up Calls: AFRF staff will conduct monthly
phone calls to families and address their questions and concerns.
6.
Referral Counseling: On and off-base community referrals will be provided to
families as needed
7. Support Groups: AFRF staff will coordinate support
groups with units as needed.
8. Car Care Program: The Air Force Aid
Society will pay for a routine maintenance check and oil change on your spouse's
vehicle when you are deployed for 30 days or more.
9. Phone Home
Program: The Air Force Aid Society will provide members with a global
accessible prepaid calling card for those deployed for 30 days or
more.
10. Give Parents a Break (GPAB): The Air Force Aid
Society will pay for five hours of child care one Saturday a month for children
six months to 12 years of age.
