The Child Development Services Program provides child development
materials, family child care technical assistance, resource and lending library,
referral to licensed child care providers and choosing child care information.
There are no child care facilities on Henderson Hall. The Child
Development Services Coordinator can assist you in finding child care in the
local community.
Child care is subsidized, here at Henderson
Hall.

SUBSIDIZED CHILD CARE SPACES IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL
REGION
The Henderson Hall Children, Youth and Teen Program has added
several new child care options to its child care program. We call
these new options "GREAT CHOICES".
COMMUNITY FAMILY CHILD CARE
Our
first "Great Choice" is subsidized child care in our Community Family Child Care
(CFCC) Homes. The CFCC homes are licensed by the state or local jurisdiction in
which they are located. The CFCC providers sign a Memorandum of Agreement with
the Henderson Hall Command that set the rules and guidance through which they
may provide child care for our families. The CFCC providers agree to monthly
monitoring and inspection of their homes by Henderson Hall CYTP staff, complete
the DOD Family Child Care training modules, maintain sufficient liability
insurance and accept Henderson Hall fees. We, in turn, provide training, lending
locker of toys, equipment and supplies, and funding that supports their programs
and personal professional advancement. Families benefit from this program
through lower child care fees and available child care spaces that are often
located near where they live or work. Child care fees are based on total family
income (military member's basic pay, BAH and subsistence allowance and spouse's
gross pay). The Henderson Hall Child Care Fees are:
DOD
CATEGORY FAMILY
INCOME FEE
PER WEEK
I $0
- $28,000 $ 55.00
II $

III $ 34,001 - $44,000
$ 80.00
IV $ 44,001 - $55,000

V $ 55,001 - $70,000
$106.00
V1 $ 70,001 +
$119.00
CFCC providers' fees are set by the
Marine Corps in Fee Cap guidance. Our fee cap (that providers may charge) ranges
from $135.00 to 155.00 per week for infants and toddlers - with special fees for
children with special needs. Parents pay their fees as listed above, and
providers receive the difference through our child care subsidy Direct Cash
Payment program. This program can save parents 20% - 70% on their weekly child
care costs.
CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CCAP)
Our second
"GREAT CHOICE" is our Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) that allows us to
subsidize child care in accredited civilian child development centers through
child care Voucher Payments. The brand new program brings the availability of
more affordable and accessible child care spaces to families of military members
( active duty, Reserve, and National Guard) serving in Operations Iraqi Freedom
and Enduring Freedom), as well as other eligible military members living and
working in the National Capital Region. The CCAP pays a $75.00 per week per
space fee to accredited child development centers. The fee is paid directly to
the centers. The centers must be accredited by the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or other approved
organizations that provide evaluation and accreditation of Early Childhood and
Child Development programs. After completing Henderson Hall CYTP registration,
parents receive referrals to enroll their children in available centers. Centers
provide care and receive voucher payments at the end of each
month.

ENHANCED EXTENDED CHILD CARE (EECC)
Our third
"Great Choice" is a program that is designed to provide child care for parents
who may not have any other choices. The ENHANCED EXTENDED CHILD CARE
(EECC), is funded by the Marine Corps to expand support for families.
USMC has introduced a new pilot program that is available to military
families when they cannot use their regularly scheduled child care, due to
unexpected duty requirements, (extended duty hours, family illness or family
emergencies).
USMC has identified certified family child care (FCC) providers
to provide quality Enhanced Extended Child Care (EECC) during evenings,
weekends, and Federal Holidays.
This program is funded to reduce the
out-of-pocket costs families experience during emergencies. The care is provided
free of charge with no cost to parents.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR
EECC?
Parents with children 14 years of age and under are
eligible
Military families with employed spouses, single parents, and dual
military families. If a parent is available to provide care, EECC is not and
option.
Along with three other Marine Corps installations, Henderson Hall
provides Enhanced Extended Child Care through network of Community Family Child
Care (CFCC) providers. We have identified the need to expand our EECC program
with additional providers throughout the National Capital Region. We will soon
add new providers in new areas. We believe that this is an important
program that can make life easier for many of our families. We encourage all
Marines who need to supplement their child care arrangements to consider our
EECC program as a "Great Choice Option".
