Ports. Contact the Port facility directly.
IF YOU ARE
ARRIVING AT HANSCOM FROM OVERSEAS, "normally" YOUR PICK-UP PORT IS HARRISON, NEW
JERSEY.
Determining your drop off and pick up ports can be done through
Joint Personal Property Shipping Office.
Check the
"whereismypov.com" website for a listing of ports, directions, procedures,
etc.
There are several options for travel to pick up your vehicle
(Note: you will be reimbursed only for the mileage from Hanscom to
Harrison and back - approximately $138.00)
DRIVING
Take I-95 South
and travel over the George Washington Bridge connecting New York and New
Jersey. Continue on I-95 South to the New Jersey
Turnpike. Travel South on the NJ Turnpike to Exit 15
W. After paying the toll at Exit 15W, take the first exit on your
right, "Kearney 508 West"; this exit will bring you onto Harrison
Avenue. Follow Harrison Avenue for approx. 1 mile - at the 2nd
traffic light (1 blinking yellow and 2 regular traffic lights), Harrison Ave
intersects with Supor Blvd. Make a left onto Supor Blvd - Go 4 blocks
and take a right onto Wilhelm St. The Vehicle Processing Center is on
the right on the side.
TRAIN
(1-800-USA-RAIL): to
Boston, South Station to Newark, NJ Penn Station: The fare is
approximately $50 one way for a weekday trip (Friday is $59.00). A
cab from the Harrison port to Newark's Amtrak station is approximately
$15.00.
AIRPLANE
Airfare from Boston to Newark International
Airport is approximately $100.00 one way, but can vary depending on the
day/time/availability, etc. Reservations can be made through the
Travel Company Office on base. Cab fare from Harrison Port to Newark
International Airport will be approximately $20.00. Call 377-2640 for

Note: Another option, more of a
hit-or-miss, is Space A travel by plane to McGuire AFB, NJ. There are
no regularly scheduled flights; however, a call three days before you wish to
travel will give you info on what's coming up. It is a one hour ride
by cab to Harrison, NJ from McGuire AFB.
