Hanscom AFB operates a Child Development Center (CDC) and a
Family Child Care program on base. Children who attend base schools
may receive after school care through the School Age
Program.
Currently, there are waiting lists for infants,
pre-toddlers, and toddlers at the CDC. To place your name on the
waiting list prior to your PCS, visit your CDC, fill out AF Form 3501, and fax
or mail it to Hanscom's CDC along with a copy of your
orders. Expectant parents may be placed on the waiting list during
the sixth month of pregnancy.
To enroll your child, bring
updated shot records, a current LES, orders and emergency contact information.
DoD civilians are authorized to use this facility, and they are placed in the
same category as military members.
Categories for eligibility by priority
are:
1) Single parents assigned on base; 2) both parents work on base; 3)
only one parent works on base; 4) not assigned to Hanscom; 5) active duty
military/DoD civilian not assigned/housed on base and other parent employed 20+
hours or in school full time; 6) retired military single parent; 7) retired
military, dual retired military parents; 8) retired military, dual employed
parents; 9)reservists, priority only given during active duty/single parent; 10)
reservists, priority given only during active duty, other parent employed 20+
hours or full-time student; 11) contractors.
