FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM (FAP)

Constant arguing, name calling, hurt feelings, pushing and hitting can become destructive family patterns.  Do family members feel controlled or powerless?  Do you have concerns about the physical or emotional well-being of a child?  Families can make positive changes.  The Family Advocacy Program supports families as they solve their problems through counseling, education, and other needed services.  Safety is a primary concern.  Victim Services provides a safe and confidential way for victims of spouse abuse to seek assistance, and provides information concerning victim's rights and safety planning.  Victim Services also advocates on behalf of victims for civilian and military orders of protection and can assist with transportation.   The Family Advocacy Program is responsible for training the commands regarding the FAP process, spouse and child maltreatment, and the cycle of violence and its impact on the family and military community. 10/24/06
