Employment opportunities for youth on base are
limited. Waitressing, grocery bagging, fast food, and child care are
available through Non Appropriated Funds (NAF), AAFES, and the commissary
(DECA). Youth summer hire programs may or may not be offered each
year depending on funding.
Employment positions exist in Grand Forks and
the surrounding areas especially in waitressing, fast food, and grocery store
clerking. However, the applicant is responsible for transportation to and from
work. This could be up to 20 miles one way.
