The Child Development Center is an Accredited Program that
provides care for children between the ages of 6 weeks through 5 years of age. A
Part-Day Enrichment Program is also affered for children who have reached their
3rd birthday by August 31st and fully/successfully potty trained before
admission.
The Child Development Program has implemeted the
Marazon-System for Development Planning & Assessment. It is a child-centered
system that focuses the classroom and home environment around the development of
each child. It considers each child's stage of development, individual interests
and needs, as well as each child history or life experiences in terms of family,
race ethnicity, culture, gender, sex-roles, and special needs.
The CDC
Offers motor skills rooms, toddler rooms, baby rooms, and preschool. There is
currently a waiting list for all age groups with newborns having the largest
demand.
It is recommended that your child be placed on the waiting list
as soon as possible. An Emergency Care form (AF1181), a USDA Food Program
application, Parent's Agreement, Immunization record, and an emergency point of
contact (AF357)are required.
Single parents and military members have
priority. The CDC operates on a sliding scale fee which is calculated
according to total family income. The caregiver/child ratio is:
6 weeks - 12
months 1:4
13 months - 24 months
1:5
25 months - 36 months 1:7
3 - 5
years
1:12
Curriculum: Weekly lesson plans, as well as appropriate
daily developmental activities, that follow the center's philosophy and goals,
are based on knowledge of child development and assessment of the children's
individual needs and interests. The children are also given
individual attention and opportunities to express their creativity through art,
music and dramatic play. Parent conferences are scheduled every
year.
