Winn Army Community Hospital provides emergency care to active
duty military personnel and their dependents. Care is also available
for military retirees. GEA supplements the care provided by two
full-time military emergency physicians and physicians
assistants. All physicians staffing at Winn are board-certified in
Emergency Medicine.
As a patient at Winn, we will provide you with the
best health care possible. However, we ask that the following be strictly
adhered to:
Child Supervision: For the well-being of our patients, young
children should not be brought into the hospital unless they have a scheduled
appointment. Only children with an appointment for medical care are allowed in
the clinics.
For information on child care, call the Fort Stewart Child
Development Services at (912)767-3202.
No Shows: Missed appointments
compromise our ability to provide you quality care and hinder our ability to
meet TRICARE access standards. If you are not able to make your appointment,
please call (912)370-6633 to cancel.
Smoking: Is strictly prohibited
throughout the hospital. Cigarettes and smoking materials are not sold in the
facility. There are four designated smoking areas outside the hospital. To
locate the designated areas, please look at the first floor map located in the
main lobby.
Dental care, including preventive dentistry, general
dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, pedodontics, removable prosthodontics,
fixed prosthodontics, and endodontics, is available from the three Dental
Treatment Facilities at Fort Stewart and one facility at Hunter Army
Airfield.
Dental Clinic 1 is in Bldg. 440, next to the Fort Stewart Arts
and Craft Shop on Gulick Avenue; Dental Clinic 2 is located on the second floor
in Winn Army Community Hospital; and Dental Clinic 4 is on the corner of Gulick
Avenue and 13th Street, Fort Stewart. The Hunter Army Airfield Dental Clinic
Command is in Bldg. 150 on Haley Avenue.
Dental care for active-duty military
personnel is available at these clinics, depending on the individual's unit of
assignment.
Dental care for family members at the DENTAC is on a limited
basis only. Under DoD regulations, family members of active-duty sponsors with
two or more years remaining (one year if returning from OCONUS) on active duty
are eligible for enrollment in the TRICARE Family Member Dental Plan and must
receive their care through private sector dental offices. Care for those
eligible is limited to "backup" emergency care in which a civilian provider has
not been able to provide the necessary treatment. Family members not eligible
for the insurance plan and their family members, have been authorized to receive
emergency services and limited space-available care on a standby basis.
